Microsoft Outlook can connectivity issue with Microsoft Exchange. \u00a0Troubleshooting and fixing these issues can range from a simple reboot to creating a new mail profile.<\/span><\/p>\n

Restart Outlook and\/or Computer<\/h2>\n

Many connectivity problems with Outlook can be resolved by simply restarting Outlook and\/or the Computer.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Restart Outlook.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. After restarting Outlook, verify connectivity.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. If there are still connectivity problems, restart Computer.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Once computer is up and running, verify connectivity in Outlook.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"Outlook3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    Offline Mode<\/h2>\n

    \u00a0Outlook 2010 and newer:<\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Click the Send\/Receive<\/strong> tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Locate the Work Offline<\/strong> button.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Click the Offline<\/strong> button.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Outlook 2007 and older:<\/span><\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. Click File<\/strong> Menu.<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Uncheck the Offline box<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        At the bottom of your Outlook Window there will be a “Trying to Connect” prompt. \u00a0If \u00a0Outlook is “Connected” the problem is solved.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Rebuild PST or OST File<\/h2>\n

        OST File<\/span><\/h3>\n
          \n
        1. Close Outlook<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Open the Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. Select Mail<\/strong> icon.<\/span><\/li>\n
        4. In the next window, click Data Files<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
        5. Locate your data file, select and click Open File Location<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
        6. Locate the data file using Windows Explorer.<\/span><\/li>\n
        7. Rename the file extension from .OST to .OLD<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        8. Close these windows and open Outlook<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          PST File<\/span><\/h3>\n
            \n
          1. Search for scanpst.exe<\/strong>\u00a0using\u00a0Windows Explorer.<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Double click scanpst.exe<\/strong> to run the application.<\/span><\/li>\n
          3. In the next window, click Browse<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
          4. Locate your .pst file.<\/span><\/li>\n
          5. Click Start<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
          6. Scanpst will scan the data file eight times. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          7. If the scan finds errors, there will be a prompt to repair. For backup purposes, check the Make Backup Of Scanned File Before Repairing<\/strong>\u00a0box.<\/span><\/li>\n
          8. Click\u00a0Repair<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
          9. Close these windows and open\u00a0Outlook<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Repair Software Install<\/h2>\n
              \n
            1. Open Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
            2. Click Programs and Features<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
            3. Scroll down and highlight the Microsoft Office<\/strong> installation.<\/span><\/li>\n
            4. Click Change<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
            5. Select Repair<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
            6. Click Continue<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
            7. Allow the repair to complete.<\/span><\/li>\n
            8. Reboot your computer.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Recreate Mail Profile<\/h2>\n
                \n
              1. Open Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
              2. Click Mail<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
              3. Select Show Profiles<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
              4. Click Add<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
              5. Name the new profile.<\/span><\/li>\n
              6. Follow the steps for the Outlook Account Setup Wizard<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
              7. Verify the new profile and set as the default or delete old profile.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
